Hello,

Have a Moen single faucet with hot and cold lines.
For the past few days, whenever the faucet is turned on, i hear a mild grinding noise at the level beneath bathroom level.
Goes away after few seconds.

Thought perhaps Aerator is bad/clogged.
Replaced it but still same grinding noise.

Any advice?

Thanks

Thats odd Grinding ? try a little more investigation . pour water down sink with faucet off, run water into sink with the stopper in etc . any sort of way to find source of noise . oh and look for kinked supply lines. and the noise is only detectable on another floor?

noise happens at Only One faucet, only when its turned on.
need to investigate if this happens with both cold and hot water supply.

update - yes the noise happens with both cold and hot water. it is mild grinding noise that goes away after few seconds.

Now this is the same bathroom, the only one out of 3.5 in the house in which there is a tapping noise when water is turned on - faucet or shower, hot or cold. The tap tap noise goes away after a few seconds.
Not sure if it is air hammer, why only this bathroom, could very well be a loose pipe in the walls.

The grinding noise is a new one. not sure what that is

the noise is detectable in the toilet (in living room) that is directly beneath the kids bathroom. even can hear in living room right outside if I listen carefully.
