I'm looking for a good socket, I'be been using a 1-1/2" 3/4 drive to change elements, this is a 6 point socket and is 4" long which makes it easy to slip of element, just rounded one off today that appears to be welded in place:)

Any recommendations?

Thanks

You knew these questions were coming:
How old is the water heater?
What brand is it?

Camco 9951 or 9953 has no chamfer, so it would be less prone to slipping. 1/2 inch drive.

Tekton 1828 has a little chamfer, and would slip on with less guidance.
The Camco 09883 is cheaper, and may be perfectly adequate.

I am not a pro, and I have never changed a WH heating element.
