I am attempting to install my own sink. I’m military so my dad isn’t close enough to help me with this project, lol. I have a two basin sink and I would like to convert it to a one basin with a disposal. The sink drain disposal combo will be on the right side because the garbage disposal switch is on the right hand side. The waste pipe line is on the left side. What is the best and legal way to do this? I live in Florida, if that changes anything with plumbing codes. Would an elbow work to make the horizontal pipe go vertical and straight to the ptrap? Or could I just cap the top of that T shape? My plumbing knowledge is minimal and I’m still learning the correct terms and vocabulary while trying to learn some basic life skills.
Thank you and I appreciate any help, Megan.

The bottom of the new sink will probably be lower. It is important that the output of the disposal be higher than the trap adapter at the wall. Will that be the case? If not, change your plans.

Output pipe is called a "discharge tube" Some are straight, and in your current setup, you should have had a straight one.

In your new setup, You could have the curved discharge tube into a p-trap. You may have to cut that shorter, depending on what it takes.

The new disposal location will be to the left of where it is now. You still might need a slip joint 45 to get to the trap adapter at the wall.

Garbage disposal, then the black 90° waste outlet, then tailpiece extension (depending on height this may not be needed), then trap, straight into the wall.
