Hello - I'm relocating the washing machine to an outside wall and want to put the water and drain lines in the wall. I have two issues, I think. 1 is there will be no opportunity to vent the drain, and 2, I'm thinking of putting the trap under the floor so its accessible from the basement. I know the trap location is frowned upon, but what is the real probelm doing this? The drain and valve box (Oatey 38548 or similar) would be located just above the top of the washer, drop straight down through the floor to the trap, and continue about 8 feet to the 4" PVC main drain. Thoughts?
