I live in a downstairs apartment. My bathroom ceiling over my tub leaks. Then it stops. Maintenance fixed it before. He told me it was the toilet upstairs fresh water valve and it should be fixed now. I noticed it leak again last night. It was after I heard their shower running. It continued to leak a little after the shower and then it stopped. It did it again this morning after their shower was on. It dripped for a while. Then it stopped. The shower was probably the problem originally. I just wanted some advice on what it could be. Maintenance is going to check it out, but I wanted to get another opinion. Is it safe to use the exhaust fan? I worry about the water getting near there.

Using the fan is okay.

Leaks from a tub can be a few things.
Leak at the shower arm into the wall.
Misdirected spray from shower
Water getting past wall plate on valve
Tub spout pushing water back into wall
Overflow on tub drain leaking
Drain for shower or tub
Showering with the curtain or shower door open
