The single handle is much easier to dial up. And the new pressure balance setups are so much nicer when there is someone else in the home using water.
I would never go back to a two handle shower valve.

If you do NOT LICK the tub, or drink water from it, how is the lead, even if it gets into the water which is unlikely, going to cause a health hazard.
