I have a 4 year old zoeller m98 sump pump. I found it running dry,not sure how long, maybe and hour but the thermal protection did not open. I toggled the switch by hand and it started working again and I left it in service for 12 hours and it cycled correctly.
I then proceeded to open the switchbox to replace the switch. I found some oil in the switchbox. Called zoeller they said likely overheated and it leaked thru the opening for the wires in the switch.
So I have a 30 dollar replacement switch that I am not sure I should waste on a pump that leaked oil.
Does loosing a bit of oil spell disaster for this pump?
