I am ready to replace my Kinetico water softener. I was about to buy a system with a Fleck 5600sxt. Then I saw on this site that it is old technology and the 5800 series is better but isn't sold online. There are some online sites that sell the unit, so I don't know if the forum has bad information or if the online sales are a fake Fleck valve.

I would prefer to go with a local company. Pentair (Fleck) shows that there is only one dealer in Utah. That dealer won't return my phone calls or emails. Maybe they only sell to plumbers?

Clack also sounds like a good product, but I can't find any information for a Clack dealer.

How do you find local dealers for these products?

I'm looking for info on where to buy a Fleck system from a reputable dealer as well. I'm ok with it being an internet dealer, but I've seen quite a few warnings against buying from folks who don't assemble their own products.

I'm likely leaning towards a Fleck 5600SXT based system, but I'll start a thread to confirm that makes sense for my home.

I just bought a Fleck 5600sxt 64k grain off Amazon from APlus Water. I got it in 2 days, and the guys on here helped me configure it correctly. The Fleck 5600sxt may be a bit older but it is proven and reliable IMO.
