The subject pretty much covers it. I bought a cabin on a lake last year near Park Rapids, MN. It's a 3 season cabin with a crawlspace so the piping isn't insulated, so we drained the system last October.
Spring's here and we're getting anxious to spend time at our new cabin, but I don't have a clue when to know that it's safe to turn the water back on.
The sand point well is 15ft. I'm assuming it's just a matter of waiting until the ground is thawed deep enough, but how can I know?
