What Type of pipe is this?

I would guess cast iron between the PVC-looking pipe and in the foreground of the ABS. That would be an unusual setup. A closeup could make things clearer.

The closest fitting looks like a cast iron screwed durham fitting. The white horizontal pipe is weird. Painted steel? Seems odd that I don't see a typical shoulder of a durham fitting tho.. the pipe and fitting look to be the same diameter.

Is there any writing or stamping? Could be asbestos pipe.

My first thought that it is asbestos insulation. From the picture it only looks may be 1" or 1-1/4" pipe. Plumber 69 stated it looks like cement. If it is pipe for a heating system, I would say it is asbestos covering iron pipe. though usually it is much thicker, maybe 2".
