We bought a cabin that had the pressure tanks inside. Moved them into an outbuilding, ~10' above previous height. The square d well pump switch only short cycles now.
Previous layout was into the house from the well in 3/4in copper. goes to a T, one side to kitchen, other side to pressure tanks. Pressure sensor is at a 1in brass 4way with inlet, presssure release, and both 80 gal tanks on the 4 way. Setup is offgrid thus the 2 tanks.
Current layout is into the house from the well in 3/4in copper, goes to a T, one side to the kitchen, other side gets reduced to 1/2in pex, goes to the pressure sensor 4 way(currently 1/2in in, 1/2in out, plug, pressure release), then a 50' run in 1/2in to the two tanks which are isolated.
We cycle the well pump, bleed out all the air in the lines, get almost all the valves we have shut then the pump starts short cycling, bumping 70+ down to 25psi and back. Tanks are more or less empty. They are also the high point of the system, with bleed valves at there inlets to let air out for what its worth.
Does anyone have any ideas for us? I'm at a loss.
