I suddenly lost water yesterday and saw my pressure switch seemed like it may have burned out. I replaced it with the same Pumptrol pressure switch (40/60 psi). Unfortunately I forgot to take a pic of the wiring so I spend all last night trying different configs and finally found one that "seems" to work? I can hear the usual clicking and see the occasional spark that I expect but the pump refuses to remain on. It just clicks every now and again. Thoughts?

What are the pressure gauge readings when the pressure switch turns the pump OFF and ON?

Did you measure the pressure tank air pre-charge pressure while the pump was de-powered, and while the pressure tank was completely drained of water?

What you describe are common symptoms of a bad pressure tank. Bad meaning, the flexible diaphragm inside the tank is leaking or has ruptured, usually resulting in the tank becoming waterlogged.

The failure of the pressure switch, is a usual symptom of a pump cycling issue, which is often due to a failed pressure tank.
