My pump is located in a small pump house attached to my home and has insulation but where its been so cold has frozen a few times usually I heat it up flip pressure switch back on and all is well. But today I heated like I usually do and went to flip switch but nothing there is still a blue flash when I engage switch but the pump is not turning on. I dont know much about these things so any help would be much appreciated.

Heat Tape works good. Insulation only prolongs the freezing process.

You should turn it off at the breaker, Before you burn up your pump motor.

Water Freezes at 0 C and 32 F. I guess you no that.

Good Luck.

You may try priming it, it may have lost its prime.

How do I do that?

Depends on the pump.

If the water pressure gauge is on the pump, you can remove it, add water until it will take no more, Reinstall the meter and try again.

If it tried to start, and was froze, It may have sheared the Key way on the impeller.

Is the motor Running ? What make and model is it ?

Heat tapes can be your friend. But they need to be used before it freezes.

Good Luck.
