Edit: well, metacafe seems to be in no hurry to review my videos. However you can view them on d.tube. Definitely make sure your speakers are turned on for the first video (totally safe for work).

Unfortunately the forum software only allows embedded videos from five sites. So you have to click the links. Seems like the other two videos are too long/large for d.tube. The state of interweb video is still pretty lame ;(

Hey, I'm surprised more DIYers don't use a winch to install submersible pumps. If you use a stainless cable you can leave it in the well, which makes pulling the pump incredibly easy.

Here's two videos of me installing a 100' HDPE pipe+pump using a winch:

All videos on metacafe:

Also, two videos of me extracting the previous property owner's incompetently-installed jet pump:

The repetitive part:

Best part (victory!), make sure your speakers are turned on:

Both PVC pipes were full of water due to a failed foot valve and ejector. The thing weighed a ton. Paying the extra bucks for proper tools (Kwik Klamp is awesome!) was completely worth it, especially from a safety perspective.

Well gee, that's awesome, Vimeo deleted all my videos and my account.

Censorship is so much fun. I guess they thought my well plumbing videos were COVID-19 misinformation or something.

Yep, they won't let me create an account without giving them my cell phone number. Not gonna happen.

Alright, let's try D.tube:

Hrm, looks like the forum software only allows embedded videos from five sites. So you have to click the link.

Seems like the other two videos are too long/large for d.tube.

Alright, I've uploaded the videos to "metacafe" because the forum software allows embedding videos from that site. I'll update the first post with the new links as they finish uploading.

Edit: ok, links updated. I guess the embedded videos will appear whenever metacity's reviewers verify that my plumbing videos aren't unlawful terrorism or whatever.
