1. You might read the well and pump forum regarding UV. https://terrylove.com/forums/index.php?forums/pumps-and-tanks-well-forum-blog-water-is-life.4/ However the search box above only searches for 4-character words or bigger. So may try ultraviolet.

2. If you got a positive coliform reading, I would sanitize my well. Sampling procedures are important. A positive coliform test is often the result of not using good sampling procedures.
For any bacteria test to be meaningful, you have to follow proper sampling techniques including sterilizing the faucet. If you care about the coliform test results, care needs to be taken in sampling. There are variations on suggested sampling techniques, but they have some other things in common:
https://www.doh.wa.gov/Portals/1/Documents/Pubs/331-225.pdf
https://www.anra.org/divisions/wate...nking_Water_Samples_for_Coliform_Analysis.pdf

https://www.digbydistrict.ca/559-water-testing-sample-taking-procedure/file.html
https://servitechlabs.com/Services/Water/WaterSamplingProcedures/tabid/128/Default.aspx

These all describe methods to avoid contaminating the sample. My point is that if you did not do something similar to one of the above links when sampling, your well water may not actually have coliform bacteria.

3. Many like UV lights to kill bacteria coming in. I am not a pro, and I don't think UV is often needed for a deep well. I don't plan to get one. UV is not that expensive however. Even with those, I would sanitize my well. I want to knock down SRB and IRB. With UV, you need a 5 micron cartridge filter before the UV. I would also sanitize the plumbing after the UV, because the UV only affects new bacteria, and not that already inside. What do you do if the power goes out and you draw water thru the off UV light fixture?
