Tub to shower drain

I have to replace the exsiting PVC tee 3X3X1-1/2 to 3X3X2 to accomodate for the replacement shower. I can remove the tee and make the change but I'll have to use a FERNCO no hub coupling to reconnect the 3" line. Is it OK to use a no hub connector under the slab?
