Your toilet is clogged. The sink's p trap has zero to do with the toilet drain. It's likely the clog is in the trap way of the toilet. Plunging might help or get a toilet auger. Do not use chemical drain cleaners. Sometimes, when all else fails, the toilet has to be pull and the clog gotten to from the underside. This is best done outside.

If you take a big bucket or waste can filled with water, might try pouring that in from as high as you can as fast as you dare. That may clean things out.

The plunger Gary suggested is useful. Look up Terry's method of using short strokes setting up a rhythm/resonance.

The closet auger is not a major commitment, so that would be next.

When pulling a toilet to deal with a clog etc, it is good to consider if you like that toilet. If it clogs at times, you would probably do well to consider a new modern toilet.

Once you work on the old toilet, you might feel invested in it, and keep putting up with its substandard performance.

Get a toilet auger and run it. If there's a tub or shower in the same bath and you don't see any backup in those drains it's more than likely in the toilets p-trap. Toilets do get calcium buildup just like all other plumbing fixtures. After you get it to flushing get a short piece of clothes hanger and rod out the holes in the underside of the bowl. If you set a hole opposite of the discharge rod it out also. I got called to unstop a toilet that had been pulled and an auger used on it. I could tell by the discharge it was gasping for air and rodded it out. After that flushing like new. Anything that drains draws air so making sure all openings in the bowl is free of calcium buildup is a must. If you live in an older home with castiron drains NEVER put anything with acid down your drains. Even if it says safe for plumbing because the company that sells that crap is not going to pay for the damage it does.
