Good day,
I am tiling a shower that is exactly 36"x48".
The tiles that I am using are 23.62" long, so 2 tiles plus a 1/16" grout line add up to 47.30 inches. If I center these on the back 48" wall that would leave a gap of 0.35" at each side between the tile and the side walls. The tiles are 0.35" thick. With the thin set behind the tiles the tile on the 36" wall should just barely overlap the tiles on the back wall.
Is this acceptable? My other option would be to tile the 36" walls first. This would put the joint line on the back wall which I know is undesirable, but this is white tile and matching grout so the joint would not be as noticeable as a tile and grout that were a contrast.
Thanks in advance for your input!

Lots of plumbers here, and we don't have strong opinions on grout lines.
We do care about good waterproofing and drain connections, and from my experience, it is valuable to have tile on the floor go under the wall tile and not have any long grout line at the wall just because it is where capillary action makes water cling and promote mold.
If you are going white, I highly recommend using the premium siliconized Dap Kwik Seal ULTRA. with lifetime mold and mildew guarantee. It actually is the best no mold product I've used.
