A duplex building built in 1976, Everett WA. Been resetting toilets and I find a steel liner of some sort inside the ABS. It starts just below the flange and continues through the bend though I could not get my camera positioned to tell when it stopped. I had the walls open before and from the outside nothing appeared unusual, just like plain abs drain stuff. Went to work on other units and found the same thing.

Anyone see this before? How the heck could they make that anyway?

My pics were poor but I may come back and post if I can find them.

Could be lead. Did somebody maybe shove lead closet bends into ABS closet bends?
