Shower handle puller

Good day, everyone,
I could really use some help here. Short of using a puller, I have tried every method I could find to remove the handle off my Moen shower faucet. It’s not that I wouldn’t use a puller but take a look at this photo.. The handle is so close to the wall that I don’t believe a puller will work properly. Opinions please? Many thanks

DIYer here. Is there a hex screw at the bottom of the handle? If so and you haven't loosened it, make sure the hex wrench is an exact fit; you don't want to round it.

Tap on it while pulling after the screw is loose.
