I'd love to just replace the inside assembly, but it's a strange (old!) set up...definitely not a modern set up.
I've adjusted the floating ballcock to no affect. The water continues to run in to fill up the tank and never stops.
I had assumed the water shutoff valve was at the left (there is no input below the toilet from the wall like modern setups),
but it doesn't seem to do anything to stop the flow. The flapper seems to be sitting fine.
Toilet still flushes and works ok, just the constant running is loud and a tremendous waste of water.
I'd like to understand how the fill valve works on this. I think there's something there where it doesn't register...hey there's enough
water in the tank now...we can stop filling up...
Any help or insights would be appreciated. Cheers!
