I have a couple of types of Roth hydronic manifolds in my house. I have issues with the system making loud noises while valves are opening and closing. I had someone in a few days ago and there was some discussion of where the source and return should be connected.

It is my belief, and I believe the way it is currently plumbed, that the source should be attached to the manifold with the thermal valves. And the return attached to the manifold with the little flow indicators.

I tried to attach a photo, but I don't think it worked.

Is there someone who can verify which is correct?
