Sorry for the late reply, just getting back to this.
No dislike of brass tailpieces - with the virus going on, I'm pretty much restricted to what Lowes and HD have available for curbside pickup. And if I went with brass, I wouldn't bother with anything other than 17ga., which they didn't offer. And brass, of course, is 5x the price.
Here's the end result, in 1 1/2" ABS. Enjoying my Spin N Grin basket, works very well. Adjusting to not having a disposal, don't miss the smell though - thanks all!
