Question about Delta shower Monitor Series 14 - Volume control

I am looking for showers for our home and I am liking one of the shower and hand-shower combo, but it comes in Series 14 instead of series 17 - https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/342701.html


I am told by one of the experts that one can use a diverter in these trims to control the water flow/volume. Can someone shed some light on this? Can a diverter be used to control the water flow?

No, but a volume control can. Seems excessive just to get volume control instead of installing a 17 series cartridge and trim.
