Please help with Grohe Faucet

I have been trying to replace a Grohe 46 374 cartridge on a kitchen faucet. After installing using plumber’s silicone, the cartridge leaks through the center. I know the cartridge is seated correctly. The leak will lesson with tightening, but not resolve completely. I have tried two different new cartridges. Any suggestions on what I may doing wrong? Thank you
