I have an addition that I am using Pex A for bathroom and kitchen. I want to use a manifold. Viega makes one but not for pex A. I was told that I could use the pex A on the pex B barb on the manifold with a copper crimp ring. What do you think? What do you think about plastic manifolds with valves vs copper?

You can attach any brand PEX A in the same way you would attach B, so just use B fittings and crimps, but as long as you're going to crimp for the Viega manifold, why not just use B throughout?

Pressure drops add -- flow rate is not solely determined by the smallest path.

You can use PEX A with a Viega PEX B manifold by crimping with a copper ring, but it’s not ideal. PEX A is designed for expansion fittings, which create a stronger seal. A PEX A-compatible manifold would be better. As for plastic vs copper manifolds, plastic is corrosion-resistant, lightweight, and has built-in valves, making service easier. Copper is more durable, heat-resistant, and better for high-pressure systems. Choose plastic for flexibility or copper for longevity.

Hey, wait a minute.
