Thanks in advance for any advice you have to offer- this is my first time posting. My partner and I are in the home stretch on tiling our shower, and need to install a hand shower water supply/bracket (all in one). The rough in is complete, and we have a pipe nipple sticking out of the wall board (which can be changed)
I purchased a Crosswater US-WB983 , but can see that it is going to be next to impossible to have a nice, tight fight against the wall w/o ripping out sheetrock behind the rough in to make micro-adjustments. (The installation instructions do not match the design of the unit) A couple issues I see:
1. The escutcheon/cover plate has to be put on before threading on the brass connector, so there is no way to see if it would be leaking behind the wall.
2.The brass connector body has a "lip"separating the escutcheon from the outlet/bracket, so unless the finished wall is EXACTLY to the nanometer, the escutcheon would either be a little loose on the wall, or it could prevent the body from threading down onto the nipple tight enough to prevent leaks.

I chose this fitting because I liked the all brass construction, and the connector separate from the body. I thought this would make it easier than trying to figure out the correct rough in so that when it was threaded on tight, the hose connector would be perpendicular to the shower floor. But I'm still pulling my hair out!
Anyone have any recommendations for a high quality shower water supply and bracket in one that has a reasonable installation? Thanks!
