Moen kitchen faucet plate not sitting flush on stainless steel sink

Hello folks. Just had this Moen faucet installed by a plumber but as you can see in the picture below there is not a tight seal around the sides of the plate/gasket sitting against the stainless steel sink. And when you are under the sink you can see the 3rd hole on the right is shinning light in. I tried tightening the plastic nut around the bottom of the sink but that does not tighten the sides of the faucet plate. Any suggestions that will look aesthetically pleasing, yet creating a seal so water does not leak under the sink?

y'er supposed to have a way to clamp to the underside of the hole. Isn't that a bracket i'm seeing up there?

Hi Breplum. I have seen some plates online with different manufactures that have some sort of a bracket to screw the sides of the plate down under the sink but not this one.
