Hello All,
My 3 section oil fired Burnham got a hole in the block. I need to replace it. This boiler had a plugged up coil, when the unit failed I put in a 60 gallon HPWH which has been great. It is now time to replace the boiler and my set up is causing me to question everything! 1st floor is a single loop of baseboard, we run a pellet stove on this floor and the zone doesn't run much. The second floor consists of 2 zones of radiant floors split up into zone valved micro loops (3 per zone) each about 300 ft. The 3 zones originate from closely spaced tees with the radiant zones on taco 4 ways feeding 150 max water. So here is my dilemma. I have a 60 gal superstore that I figured I would run in the winter for DHW since the boiler is running any way. I thought I had landed on a Trio P3 low mass 80k boiler but is this the right call? I'm now reading more on reverse indirects, etc etc. Any advice?
