Bought a mini split system, live in the country and no one want to come out and install it. Unit came with line set bu it is not log enough. Manual says lines should be 1/4 and 3/8. BUT, the line set that came with it is 1/4 and 1/2. The outdoor unit is set up ith 1//4 and 3/8 connections. the indoor units (2) are set up forr 1/4 and 1/2 conecions. What thy have done is install a 1/2 connector on a 3/8 line. What purpose would an inlarged line serve?

To make it a little clearer, the line at the indoor unit is 3/8 with a 1/2 inch connector installed, the connection at the outdoor unit is 3/8, the line supplied it 1/2 with adptor to connect to outdoor unit.

What's the brand and model # of both inside and outside units and lenght of lines needed. Normally inside unit unit dictates line size and pipe size changes made at condenser.

Will have to get those for you, it is a two zone 2x 12000 BTU Midea system. The indoor units have 1/4 and 3/8 lines in them but the 3/8 line has a 1/2 fitting brazed on.
