Replacing a Badger 5 installed by the prior owner with an Insinkerator Evolution Pro 750 with cord. Should we replace the dishwasher drain hose and the air gap too? Not having problems just want to prevent future problems. The dishwasher drains through the air gap to the garbage disposal. We have a receptacle under the sink that goes to a wall switch and controls the disposal.

Also, what's the drain hose size for the Maytag Jetclean Plus Series MDB4409PAW0 Dishwasher? Current part is WPW10545278 (was WPW10545278)? Is this something we should replace when putting in the new disposer and does it have check valves or is universal drain hose ok? Know Whirpool makes Maytag and replacement parts may be Whirpool branded.

Replacement of the disposer is slam dunk.. all the units you mention are step up compared to the badger. Replacing hoses is not generally necessary unless some outward indication says otherwise.

No advice on specific manufacture hoses..
