Just for some background on me, I am new to learning about how toilets work. I also have quite a bit of anxiety around cleanliness.
As the title says, I am trying to figure out what the best options are for toilets that clean easy, and flush great (and minimize potential clogging), while also not splashing when flushed. To clarify, what I mean by splashing, is that it seems that most toilets seem to launch tiny droplets of water into the air when flushed which if you look closely you may notice on the seat or cover afterwards. My understanding is that it is probably not possible to avoid some microscopic amount of water flying up into the air (which is why it is recommended to close the cover), but at the very least it would be nice if the amount is small enough so as not to be visible.
I am currently leaning towards the "TOTO UltraMax II 1.28 GPF One Piece Toilet". A family member has had a few of those in her house and they have generally worked very well. particularly with flushing due to siphonic jet, decent size trapway (for a siphonic toilet), the CEFIONTECT surface, Tornado Flush etc. Being a siphonic toilet it of course comes with the advantages of less odor and better self cleaning, though I know siphonic toilets are more likely to clog than wash-down toilets, but hopefully some of the features of this toilet make up for this in that department.
My main concern with the TOTO Ultramax II is that when I have used it in the past, I have noticed that some small water droplets have managed to jump onto the seat when flushed. While these water droplets were quite small, they were big enough to be seen by the naked eye when looking closely. As far as I know, these toilets were installed and configured correctly, though I can't say that I am 100% of that. These were also installed quite a while ago, so I don't know if the current TOTO Ultramax II's are exactly the same or have been updated over the last decade or so.
Anyone have any recommendation for a toilet that best addresses my main concerns, in particular the slash-upon-flush concern? Any other toilets I should be looking at if I am looking at the TOTO Ultramax II?
Thanks in advance for your input.
