The valve has a drip at the seam. Is this a common problem with clack valves? Is this repairable?

Just seeing if you got this resolved or if anyone can provide any information since I have the same valve. Thanks

From the marks on the valve collar below the drip, I suspect someone attempted to use a large slip joint wrench or a pipe wrench to loosen or tighten the valve connection to the tank.
