I have a kinetico model 60 from about 98, ive had it a couple years( i go it free form someone moving out of a house). 6 months ago it wasn't cycling correctly and i discovered stripped gears in the head. It was rebuilt bu Kinetico.
Working fine until recently when more often than not, after a cycle we are getting a dose of backwash brine through the house. Clearly its not back washing correctly.
I called Kinetico just to inquire and they immediately said it was likely the resin and i should check it to see if its mushy. Ive already checked the backwash line by blowing through it, i would say it takes the pressure of blowing up a 3/4 full balloon to push the water through it, then when it clears it clears air easily.
Ive had the head apart to check the gearing, but is there anything else i should check to see if something is clogged?
Does the position of the float in the brine tank have anything to do with not back washing correctly?
anything else i should be checking or something specific within the head i should look at?
Thanks !
