This is a new jalo valve but immediately leaks from the cartridge.
Am I missing an o ring between the cartridge and brass ring?
There's nothing that size in the box

Something isn't right. The cartridge should come with seals for the end of the cartridge that fits into the body of the brass casting.
Make sure it's clean there where it fits in. What brand and model is that? What holds the cartridge in?

I hope you didn't solder the valve with the cartridge still in the body.

None of those seem to show an o ring though.
But it seems like that must be it.
I added a 2nd video

Shouldn't the cartridge be in one piece rather than the green and white pieces separated?

for future . allways test valve after install but before tile work. no way of knowing if the fittings to shower head are good or bad. Contact Manufacture for assistance. its most likely a simple assembly problem

Dang.. we had a project where we installed and removed a couple of those valves when the homeowner changed their mind.. But I can't find the valves to open them up.

If I push the shower button then because it rediverts the leak stops.
All the fittings work fine.
I'm guessing the plumbers tested it but not sure...

Found the shower valve that I thought was a Jalo... but its a Riobel.. different Canadian brand. And its missing a cartridge anyways so it wouldn't have helped regardless.

Thinking on that tho.. what shower valves actually ship with the cartridge installed anymore? Seems less likely a risk to burn up unless the cartridge did ship with the rough in valve.
