Jacuzzi whirlpool bath

i am remodeling bathroom and need to remove and re-install jacuzzi whirlpool bath....does the drain spout from the tub just insert inside the house drain and need to be lifted out....or is there some kind of comnnection that holds the 2 together......

The tub drain could be solvent welded to the rest of the drain, or it could have slip fittings, that would require you to loosen the nut. In either case, it should NOT just pull out. If solid welded, you'd have to cut the pipe. Otherwise, you could loosen the nut(s) and pull it apart.
