So this may be a wild concept, but I'm reaching out to see if the possibility is out there. I live in an area where my sub water is fairly low and have 20 acres of land. I want to put in a sandpoint well and use the well to water different paddocks of pasture after livestock has been on it so I can do rotational grazing. I need help figuring out some bullet points to see if it's feasible.

1) If I run 3/4' water line to each paddock and have it connected to 6 sprinklers to water the area, what size of pump would I need? The furthest water line run I would need to do is somewhere around 1000'

2) I plan to run 2" pipe down for the sandpoint, usually my subwater is 3'-4' down, what would be the minimum suggested depth to put the sandpoint?

3) Also, has anyone here ever had experience with powering a pump using windmill generated power? How to store power, what systems were used, etc?

Thanks for anyone's time.

I cannot really help but a few questions would need to be answered.

1000' is a long run and it can take a bit of horse power to push the water.
I do not think driving six sprinklers plus a watering trough You would have enough water flow. For normal irrigation 1/2 hp would the minimum for six sprinklers depending on sprinkler type.
A shallow well of a few feet may not be-able to provide enough water (recovery).
For a pump at least 1.5 to 2.0 hp but you'll need 220v ac

What little I know it sounds that a drip irrigation setup is more prudent to provide at least drinking water for the live stock. For power look into solar panel vendors. For the well dig a big hole, fill with clean stone to allow ground water infiltrate giving a larger reservoir of water. For a pump nothing bigger than for a fountain. With solar just run it all day.

My take is built it up a little at a time to see what works best before throwing a lot of money at it. I appreciate your endeavor trying to come up with a plan.
