I Don't Trust Compression Fitting Valves

We are tightening the nut and not the actual valve, correct¿ If it feels loose after you think you've tightened it enough, you haven't.

I don't use a lot of compression fittings and being a knuckle dragger I usually tighten then until they feel secure, then apply pressure and check for leakage tightening until there is no leakage...

It works for me!

I consider the #1 cause of leaks to be from overtightening, causing the ferrule to crush the tubing.

This approach keeps you from overtightening the joint.
