Hi. Couldn't see any discussion of wet venting that fit my specific situation.

Plumbing in a new bathroom and working around 2x8 joists in a basement with a low ceiling.

The line starts with the bathtub upstream, 2" P trap. That has a 2" vent. Then I have a vertical drop of about 10" into a 3" wye. The toilet then joins the 3" line with a 3" wye. The lav is downstream but has its own dry vent.

Here's the state of things (dry fitted). The red is the WC. There will be 4x3 elbow that will attach to the line in a missing 3" wye (the red circle). (Forgive the drawing skills...)

In the drawing below, the green section is what I believe is the horizontal wet vent. Is it to code? I suspect maybe the vertical drop might complicate it but I'm unsure. I have the bathtub section higher for better ceiling clearance.

I'm in Quebec, Canada.

Many thanks.

Shaun

Not as familiar with the Canadian plumbing code as the various US codes, but I believe enough questions like this have been discussed that there isn't anything unusual in it that would affect my answer (based on the US codes), so:

Yes, the green section is the horizontal wet vent, and yes, it's OK. The drop is fine, doesn't cause any issues.

I assume the reason you are using a 3" wye is so you can add a cleanout fitting on the straight inlet? If so, ensure you have the requisite clearance in front of that cleanout fitting, as per your plumbing code.

Cheers, Wayne
