High loop dishwasher

    All new dishwashers I've seen have a high loop built on them. What's the purpose of a second loop under the sink.

    Modern DW's supposed to have an air gap (water supply ) and the loop on the discharge is for waste

    The loop on the back of the machine is to prevent self siphonage the one under the counter is to prevent waste flowing back into the DW waste line

    Double trapping yes but to many installers do not bother to put the loop in
