I feel you man. I went through a maze trying to find my shower diverter valve which was made in 1969. After two months of searching, I came across a plumbing company that has affiliates who hand make old shower valves like ours. Here is their information. It appears to be Glauber. You should have no problem googling it. I would take it to a parts supply for positive identification.
