My journey with fluoride
I live in the desert and my beard was turning blue when I swam in our pool. So, I ended up with a copper test (the color test strip kind) that also includes fluoride. I was unable to properly read the comparative test against the legend as they seemed so close in color. So, I bought a $200 Extech fluoride test instrument. I worked with the companies engineer for an hour confirming I had calibrated it correctly. When I test some store bought distilled water it tests 0.0 for fluoride. My RO water tests at 5.1 for fluoride. Today I drained my 10,000 gallon pool and began refilling it. At about half way I pulled a sample and (this is only going through a paper filter before the water softener). Initially the test read OL / Over Limit. I ended up carefully diluting it 4 parts distilled to 1 part well water to get a 5.6 reading. So, 5.6 X 4 is way more than you want. The docs on the RO membrane claim 87.7% effectiveness. Does anyone have any advice / direction? is a double RO into a large storage tank how?
Thanks, John
