I want to replace my air gap with a high loop. I have a 5/8" ID rubber hose coming from the dishwasher to the air gap, and a 7/8" ID rubber hose from the air gap to the disposal. I thought it would be super quick and easy to simply replace the air gap with a barbed reducer coupling that is 5/8" on one side and 7/8" on the other. Unfortunately, that coupling does not seem to exist anywhere I have looked. Am I missing something? I feel like it should exist.

Thanks for any help!

The fitting on the disposal body that has a knockout is for the dish washer . That hose has to be looped higher than the disposal look into install manual for dishwasher. Or could use ell and street ell.

Thanks. So, I already have a rubber tube hooked up to the disposal, and I understand the high loop requirement. I currently have it plumbed through an air gap, which I want to remove.

I guess my question, simply stated, is this: What is the best/easiest way to connect a 5/8" ID rubber drain hose to a 7/8" ID rubber drain hose?
