Do I have a defective tub?

I just received a Kohler Entity Acrylic Alcove tub that may have a defect and I'm not sure if I should return it,
keep it and try to repair it, or just install it as it's not an issue. There is a small area on the side that will be
facing the wall that is missing some fiberglass. I've attached a pic of what it looks like and a pic of what it looks
like from inside the tub with a light shining behind it. Any advice would be appreciated.
