I need to replace the seals and springs in my bathtub taps and I am having difficulty figuring out how to remove the escutcheons. My home was built in the late thirties and I'm certain this Delta faucet has been in there since the sixties.

Is there some trick to removing these things? I've broken the caulk seal already but no luck so far and I don't want to get too zealous for fear I might damage something.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Check the bottom and side of the escutcheon as they may have a set screw that needs to be loosened

Some have a tiny screw others need an Allen wrench

Hey, wait a minute.

This is awkward, but...
