Hoping somebody has some magic for me here.
I've got a Roman Tub Delta faucet (separate hot/cold valves) that has a very slow but steady drip on the hot water side. It's only about 2 years old. For a few weeks, I was able to turn it on and off several times and eventually get the drip to stop. But now even that doesn't work.
So I took apart the handle and removed the cartridge. The cartridge has a metal plate on the bottom with a slot on one side. This fits over a round rubber seal with a spring under it. Everything looked brand new. But went to Lowes and picked up a set of seals and springs anyway. Also a new cartridge just to be safe since I live a ways from town. Figured if I didn't need it, I'd return it next time I was in town.
First tried replacing the seal and spring. Same problem. Then replaced cartridge. STILL same problem.
The old ones were only 2 years old and they looked every bit of it. No nicks or wear on either metal plate on bottom of cartridge and the rubber seal looked new. New set, of course, looks brand new because it is.
At this point, everything I can replace inside the handle is now new. Yet still have this 2-3 drip per second leak I cannot stop.
Hoping I don't have to replace the whole dang handle as it's in tile and not accessible. But from what I can see - there's just nothing left.
Picture I found online of what my insides look like below. So.....is there some magic I can try? Or do I cut into this tile wall and replace the whole faucet with a new one?
