Compression or glued shower drain?

Will always have access to under the shower, if I break drywall. Which should I use? I purchased both.

If you will always have access my preference would be glued. The compression gasket will eventually dry out and potentially cause a leak.

As a DYIer, I like the glued kits. If I cut the pipe short, I can just go get another piece. Just make sure that when you dry fit that you make good witness lines so you can get it to line up precisely when glueing.

Do glued. You can even add an mj clamp before it goes it ptrap.
