We have an aging well with sediment filter, chlor/dechlor and softener. All was fine until we ran a hose for a project 24 hrs. Since then, our water has been cloudy brown. We've been told it's from letting that hose run, that the only option is to drill a new well and that nothing would be guaranteed. Does this make any sense? Intuitively it sounds bogus, but we know nothing.

I don't know. We actually were gone while this was done and no one would have monitored that.

What water is brown? Water after the filter or before? Filter may have failed.

Is your declor filter a backwashing carbon filter? How old is that media?

All water after the system is brown, except the RO at the Kitchen sink. Good point -- the declor is fairly new, but an awful lot of water went through it recently. I'll check and report back.
