When a kitchen or bathroom faucet is turned on there is a clicking (that is the best way to describe it) noise coming from a pipe behind the wall in one of our bathrooms. It also happens when the water is turned off. When a faucet is turned on or off slowly it is does not occur as frequently. We had PVC pipes installed throughout the home a couple of years ago.
Water hammer was my first thought but I listened to videos on the internet and didn't sound anything like it.
I lowered the water pressure from 60 to 42 and it still occurs.
It seems to only be a cold water issue. When I turn on the cold water valve, I hear the noise. Not so with the hot water.
