Drain pipe for bathroom sink cast iron the nipple that comes out of wall fell off during a faucet install.
The threads is completely rusted away on the 90 degree elbow.
Can the elbow be re threaded?
Or does the comple pipe need replacing? Sure hope not.

I've never seen a 90 rethreaded. The beginning tapers on a standard tap need a few inches before the threads are full depth.
mfrs use special taps on fittings. You could buy and then modify a tap.
The rust out of one nipple indicates the terminal nature of your drain system which needs updating...sorry.
